World’s Fairs have offered a preview of the future for over 100 years, showcasing breakthroughs that eventually reshaped daily life. WIRED is holding a one-day event in Miami on November 4 to bring those technologies and cultural forces off the page. The gathering takes place at the Sacred Space in the Wynwood district. It will feature conversations with experts from biotechnology, politics, artificial intelligence and other fields.
Who is speaking
The Onion is present, alongside a researcher dedicated to decoding dolphin language. A screening of the Elon Musk documentary will occur, followed by a Q&A. Attendees can also try the training software astronauts use to prepare for missions to the moon and Mars. Robots will be on the grounds.
Additional programming will be announced closer to the date. The current list of speakers and events includes immersive art installations from Marina Abramović and others.
