Samsung has provided a first look at its upcoming smart glasses, revealing two new frames and confirming an impressive nine-hour battery life. The devices, developed in collaboration with Google, are set to launch this fall alongside partnerships with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. Google and Samsung have teased the hardware for some time, unveiling initial designs at I/O in May. Now there are two more options available: a set of squared-off black glasses from Gentle Monster and a more rounded, red-brown pair from Warby Parker. Every pair includes a camera, meaning these devices face the same privacy concerns as Meta’s offerings.
The inclusion of cameras on every frame raises significant questions about data collection and user consent. This design choice places the new glasses in direct competition with existing market leaders regarding surveillance capabilities. The partnership aims to integrate AI directly into everyday eyewear, but the hardware limitations remain visible in the current reveal.
* Launch is scheduled for this fall.
* Battery life reaches nine hours.
