Amazon has expanded Alexa with over 100 new shopping features ahead of the holiday season. The update enables users to create and edit shopping lists, register items, and manage subscription frequencies directly through voice commands. Customers can now instruct the assistant to change delivery schedules, such as switching a monthly subscription to a quarterly one, or update drop-off details for specific packages. The system also allows queries regarding Prime and Audible billing or payment problems.
These additions follow a broader push toward agentic shopping tools launched earlier this year. Amazon reported that usage of these agent features increased eightfold since January, while over 400 million consumers have used Alexa for shopping within the last 12 months. The changes focus on specific administrative tasks rather than altering core account structures or privacy settings.
- Users can modify subscription frequencies from monthly to quarterly.
- Payment issue resolution is now available via voice query.
- Over 400 million consumers used Alexa for shopping in the past year.
