Thomann’s Music Days sale is running until 14 July, offering discounts on Behringer synthesizers and other audio gear.
Current pricing
The German retailer has reduced prices on several models. The Proton is now £245, down from £269. The MS-1 MKII in grey is available for £195, reduced from £211. The BDS-3 drum synthesizer has dropped to £185, from £211. The UV1 audio interface is priced at £95.
Stocks are limited, so purchasing decisions should be made quickly.
Behringer Proton
This unit replaces the Neutron. It contains dual analogue oscillators with five blendable waveforms. Self-oscillating, multi-mode filters are available in series and parallel configurations. Independent sub oscillators are included alongside a 64-point patch bay.
Users can access paraphonic play modes. The synth features two ASR envelopes, two ADSR generators, and a noise generator. There are 68 controls in total for sound shaping.
Behringer MS-1 MKII Grey
The MS-1 MKII includes a keyboard with 32 semi-weighted keys. It houses an analogue VCO with four mixable waveforms, a noise generator, and a resonant low-pass filter. An ADSR envelope, arpeggiator, and additional features are present.
Behringer BDS-3
This model uses the circuitry from the original SDS-3, which launched in 1978. It provides four fully independent drum channels. A fifth, dedicated special FX channel adds motion and character to the percussion.
Per-channel controls manage Pitch, Impact Click, Decay Time, Bend Level, Noise/Tone Balance, Effect Range, and Channel Volume. Each channel accepts input via MIDI, USB-MIDI, or mic input.
Behringer UV1
The UV1 is a microphone preamplifier, voice processor, and USB 2.0 audio interface. It includes an integrated compressor, de-esser, enhancer, and expander/gate. The unit supports +48V phantom power.
Supported sample rates include 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, and 192 kHz. Connectivity consists of one mic/line input, one line input, an insert send/return, one line output, and a stereo headphone output.
What it means
These reductions lower the entry cost for analogue synthesis and drum programming. The Proton and MS-1 MKII offer more complex sound generation for less money. The BDS-3 provides a specific tool for electronic percussion at a reduced price. The UV1 expands recording options for home studios. Buyers must act within the remaining week of the sale.
