Pinterest launched a beta feature called Restyle in the U.S. and Canada, allowing users to upload photos of their rooms and use artificial intelligence to overlay furniture, change wall colours, or swap entire decor styles. The tool lets individuals click specific items to remove them or replace them with objects found on the platform, effectively merging saved inspiration with a virtual reality of their actual living space. This capability relies on Pinterest Intelligence, which combines Nvidia Blackwell GPUs with open-source models to process visual search requests and turn user interactions into shopping signals.
The move matters because it addresses a common friction point in online retail where consumers struggle to visualise how products fit into their specific environments. By enabling direct manipulation of an uploaded room photo, the feature aims to shorten the decision-making process and increase the likelihood that a saved pin converts into a purchase.
