Marshall unveils new Auracast-enabled Action IV and Stanmore IV Bluetooth speakers

Marshall has released the Acton IV and Stanmore IV Bluetooth speakers, updating its home audio range with improved frequency response and Auracast support.

The new models use a Dynamic Loudness system to trigger limiters as volume rises. This prevents distortion during loud passages, whether playing rock or techno.

“Since first launching in 2012, Marshall’s home speakers have evolved while remaining true to our heritage,” says Simona Berbec, Product Manager at Marshall Group. “These always-in-place speakers form the foundation of any home setup.”

Logistically, the speakers place RCA and AUX ports at the bottom. This allows them to sit flush against a wall or fit into a bookshelf where right angles are required. The analog inputs also connect record players and other legacy audio sources.

Visually, the units keep the classic Marshall aesthetic. They feature the cursive logo on salt-and-pepper amp mesh with a brass control dashboard. The dashboard includes precise knobs for volume, bass, and treble. The Marshall app adds an expanded EQ and audio placement optimisation.

Auracast technology lets multiple speakers play from the same source. Users can stack Acton IVs and Stanmore IVs, or mix them with Acton IIIs and Stanmore IIIs.

“Acton and Stanmore [are] chosen time and again for their iconic design, premium build quality, rich, powerful sound, and intuitive tactile controls,” Berbec continues. “With our fourth generation, the focus has been on protecting and strengthening these core qualities, building on what people love rather than reinventing it.”

What it means

Creators and musicians using these speakers will notice the Dynamic Loudness keeps the mix intact at high volumes. The Auracast feature removes the need for separate cables when setting up a multi-speaker system, allowing a single source to feed several units simultaneously.

The Acton IV starts at $329.99, and the Stanmore IV starts at $429.99. They are available now in black and cream.
