OpenAI has launched Intelligent UI, a new interface for GPT-6 that injects interactive visuals directly into conversations. This update, rolling out Wednesday for paid subscribers and Thursday for free users, replaces static images with functional elements like tappable buttons, editable graphs, and custom calculators. The company states the primary aim is to simplify learning complex subjects by allowing users to manipulate data rather than just reading descriptions.
While the feature targets technical understanding, it also addresses accessibility by making abstract concepts more tangible through direct interaction. Product manager Aarush Selvan noted that helpful answers often require more than text alone, citing examples such as diagrams for airplane lift mechanics or interactive maps for hiking trips. Users retain control over the experience, as they can adjust the frequency of these visual components to suit their preferences.
- Interactive charts and graphs are fully editable by the user.
- Features include custom calculators for tasks like budgeting.
- Availability expands to all tiers by Thursday.
