AfterQuery reportedly becomes Y Combinator’s fastest-ever unicorn, now valued at $3.2B

AfterQuery has reportedly raised a funding round that values the company at $3.2 billion. This valuation marks a tenfold increase from its $300 million Series A just five months prior. Y Combinator partner Gustaf Alströmer confirmed this is the fastest acceleration from launch to unicorn status in the accelerator’s history. The founders, aged 22 and 23, joined the Winter 2025 cohort eighteen months ago. The San Francisco startup stated it achieved an annualized revenue run rate of $100 million in April. It lists Nvidia, Legora, and Motif Technologies as current customers. AfterQuery differs from peers like Mercor and Scale by training models to replicate professional workflows rather than just improving question accuracy. The firm employs doctors and lawyers to encode the patterns and reasoning of top practitioners. Forbes first reported the news, though AfterQuery could not be reached for comment.

  • Valuation rose from $300m to $3.2bn in five months
