Zach Yadegari co-founded Cal AI at 17, reaching 15 million downloads and $30 million in annual revenue before his 20th birthday. The company was acquired by MyFitnessPal in December 2025. Yadegari will discuss these metrics at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026.

How Cal AI grew so fast
The app uses image recognition and depth sensors to calculate calories, protein, carbs, and fat from a single photo. This was not Yadegari’s first venture. At 16, he sold Totally Science, a gaming platform with over 5 million users, for six figures during the pandemic. Cal AI moved even quicker, generating revenue in less than two years.
MyFitnessPal kept the seven-person team intact and left Yadegari in charge. He will explain how the company turned breakout attention into durable retention. The talk focuses on building in a distribution-driven market where products find massive audiences quickly.
