RayNeo’s new AI glasses skip the camera, focus on text overlays

RayNeo has launched a pair of smart glasses that omit both a camera and a microphone speaker. The RayNeo iO Glasses project text directly into the wearer’s field of view using a green waveguide display with 97 percent transparency and approximately 1,300 nits of brightness. This design choice removes the visual intrusion of recording devices while maintaining clear vision for the environment.

The device relies on four microphones and a bone conduction sensor to capture audio without a dedicated speaker. The system listens to conversations, summarises them, extracts action items, and suggests calendar entries that users confirm with a head nod. A teleprompter mode and speech-to-text translation for 40 languages complete the feature set. Out of the box, the glasses run RayNeo AI and Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite. A $9.99 monthly subscription adds access to ChatGPT 5.1, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Claude, and DeepSeek. One catch worth flagging is that all of the AI models listed are already outdated.

* Green waveguide display ensures 97 percent transparency
* Head nod confirms calendar suggestions
* LED indicator lights up when the mic is active
