LinkedIn actually adds a ‘seems like AI slop’ button

LinkedIn has introduced a new button allowing users to flag posts that “Seems like AI slop.” This feature arrives as part of a wider effort to reduce the volume of content generated by artificial intelligence on the platform. Recent data from AI detector Pangram indicates that 41 per cent of longform LinkedIn posts were identified as completely generated by AI. Chief product officer Hari Srinivasan stated that addressing this issue is a top priority for the company.

The addition of a specific reporting mechanism shifts the responsibility for identifying low-quality content from passive observation to active user intervention. By providing a direct tool, LinkedIn aims to give its community more control over their feeds without relying solely on automated detection systems. This approach acknowledges that human judgment remains necessary to distinguish between genuine content and mass-produced material.

  • The button appears on posts suspected of being entirely AI-generated
  • Reports are processed alongside existing spam and low-quality flags
  • LinkedIn will adjust visibility for flagged content based on volume
