YouTube announced new tools for its Studio app at the Made on YouTube event, aiming to help creators analyse their videos and expand their audiences. The updates expand Ask Studio to iOS and Android devices while introducing features that provide feedback on unpublished drafts. A new research feed within the app displays content types performing well on the platform, allowing creators to apply their own interpretations. The service will also generate thumbnails and titles based on video content matched to individual styles. Creators can now generate three thumbnail options to show different audience segments.
YouTube stated that users have run more than 40 million A/B tests on titles and thumbnails. The company plans to let users test up to three video cuts to determine the best opening hook. Later this year, the Studio app will automatically monitor thumbnail performance and change one if it underperforms. Analytics updates will move beyond raw numbers to explain video performance and offer advice on engagement. YouTube also introduced conversational editing for Shorts and tools within the YouTube Create app.
