Pangram has launched Pangram 4, an updated model designed to detect text generated by artificial intelligence. The new system claims a false positive rate of roughly one error per 24,000 documents, a significant drop from previous versions. It also identifies human writing falsely flagged as AI just 0.0041 percent of the time. The company states the model can distinguish between lightly polished text and fully generated content while resisting common tools used to disguise AI writing.
The service costs $0.05 per 100 words, representing a two- to tenfold price increase depending on document length. All plans now include image scanning at no extra cost. Pangram 3 remains available until September 30, 2026. Business growth has been rapid according to the New York Times, with annual revenue rising 35 times year on year. Monthly users jumped from 2,700 in June 2025 to 120,000 in June 2026.
