OpenAI is removing text message limits for users on its free and Go tiers starting next week. Previously, these accounts faced restrictions when sending too many simple text prompts, but those caps will no longer apply. The company confirmed this change via its official blog, noting that file uploads and image interactions will still retain their existing constraints.
This adjustment signals a shift in how OpenAI manages access to its most popular model. Free users will no longer need to wait for paid upgrades to maintain continuous conversation threads. The move also coincides with the introduction of a new Think button, which allows these users to request deeper reasoning for complex questions.
* Limits on file uploads and images remain in place
* The Think button is available to free and Go users
* Changes take effect next week
