Koko

London’s KOKO music venue has unveiled its own recording studio in celebration of its 125th anniversary, featuring new equipment from Solid State Logic.

KOKO underwent a three-year restoration and redevelopment between 2019 and 2022, overcoming significant challenges including a fire, a flood, and the impact of the global pandemic. This transformation transformed KOKO into a 50,000 square foot cultural space, housing three live music venues and sixteen backstage rooms in its House Of KOKO members club.

These rooms host curated live events, DJ sessions, and cultural programming, including the new Penthouse recording studio. Members also have access to hidden spaces such as a jazz club, vinyl rooms, a rooftop restaurant, gallery, secret bars, and more. The venue allows artists and creators to use these creative spaces for recording, songwriting, and podcasting.

Additionally, KOKO has unveiled a new Miraval Members’ Balcony within the KOKO Theatre. This area offers members access to over 150 live shows annually with their own private bar. To learn more about KOKO or apply for a membership to The House Of KOKO, visit their official website.

The venue has also commemorated its anniversary with a new video, If These Walls Could Talk, directed by Ned Botwood and produced by Somesuch. The video features a depiction of Ellen Terry, the actress who first opened KOKO in 1901.
