Claude for Legal now verifies sources automatically, then hands the file to a lawyer

Anthropic has updated Claude for Legal to automatically verify sources before presenting files to lawyers. The new system generates interactive artifacts that link every statement to its original citation, allowing legal teams to check claims without manual research. These features address requests made since the service launched in May.

The update focuses on routine tasks like comparing laws across different countries and checking contracts against internal guidelines. More than 60 integrations in the legal directory, including Bloomberg Law, let users connect their own databases without manual uploads. Firms such as Goodwin and PwC also offer their own tools on the platform. Built-in settings enforce data protection rules and maintain required information barriers between teams.

* The model performs initial verification of citations before human review
* Interactive tables allow comparison of laws across multiple jurisdictions
* Existing enterprise clients can connect external databases via API
