Adobe is rolling out an optional beta interface in Photoshop called the AI Assisted Editor. This new view consolidates the software’s artificial intelligence features into a single toolbar. It brings together prompt-based editing, background removal, and image extension tools. Users can also refine edits by drawing directly on the canvas. The markup feature allows artists to sketch arrows, select areas for recoloring, or brush in rough shapes to guide the AI assistant. This approach replaces text prompts with direct visual instructions for modifying images.
The update matters because it changes how users interact with generative tools within a professional workflow. It reduces the friction of switching between different panels to access specific AI functions.
