Google has expanded AI Mode to include flight price tracking, hotel bookings, and loyalty point calculations, a feature set launched Thursday that moves the tool from information retrieval toward active trip management.

How the new features work

The update allows users to specify departure dates and destinations to view current pricing across more than 300 airlines and travel sites. Once a user confirms a choice, the system builds the itinerary within the interface. Alternatively, a request to track specific prices will trigger an email notification if costs change for the selected dates.

Flight price tracking is currently active in over 180 countries.

Hotel bookings

Users can now describe their upcoming trip and preferences to receive a list of options including reviews and key details. Selecting a property prompts the system to assist with completion. The interface displays a “Continue on Google” button alongside integrated partners. Clicking this directs the user to the partner site to choose a room, check cancellation terms, and pay via Google Pay. The hotel or booking platform retains responsibility for the final transaction and customer service.

The feature has begun rolling out in the United States in English. Over the coming weeks it will expand to include Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Loyalty point tracking

Google added the ability to calculate flight and hotel costs in points or miles. A query such as “I want to travel from Atlanta to Miami using my AA miles. Help me find some options for nonstop flights departing Oct 9 and returning on Oct 12” will display the required mileage for matching flights. This update is available globally.

What it means

The shift places the planning burden on the user rather than the search engine. Google is building a layer that connects directly to booking partners, allowing the AI to handle the search and initial steps while the transaction happens elsewhere.
