Enveda has secured $311 million in Series E funding to advance nature-derived AI drugs into clinical trials. The round values the company at $2 billion, doubling its worth from twelve months ago under the lead of Catalio Capital Management.
The startup focuses on extracting medicines from plants and microbes rather than synthesising them entirely in a lab. Viswa Colluru founded the firm in 2019 to accelerate this discovery process using artificial intelligence. While no AI-discovered drug has yet received FDA approval, Enveda is currently testing several candidates in patients. One targets severe skin conditions, while another aims to help maintain weight loss after stopping GLP-1 treatments. This investment signals confidence in moving computational models from theory to human testing.
