Anthropic has launched a new dashboard for its Claude chatbot that tracks user activity and gently nudges people to keep using the tool.

Reflect tracks usage patterns
The feature, called Reflect, appeared on Thursday. It displays a breakdown of topics discussed, general usage habits, and the specific tasks users delegate to the AI. The interface shows how much work Claude has assisted with over time.
Anthropic states that the data is not used for any purpose other than providing these insights to the individual account holder.
Health-related conversations connected to integration tools are excluded from the dashboard entirely. Sensitive topics may appear in a high-level summary only.
Questions prompt reflection
The system asks users to consider their own habits. One prompt asks what task they wish to perform themselves, even if the AI could complete it faster.
Users can set quiet hours or schedule reminders to step away from the chatbot. This addresses the potential for dependency, noting that the software is designed to respond instantly and encourage follow-up questions.
Integration tactics
Reflect suggests using the Projects feature to avoid re-explaining context across repeated tasks. This approach deepens the integration of the tool into daily workflows.
Anthropic notes that this strategy helps retain users and reduces the likelihood of them switching to competitor products.
Precedents for usage data
Using analytics to shape consumer sentiment is not new. In 2012, Google introduced Gmail Meter. The utility displayed traffic patterns, pie charts of email categories, and data storage comparisons between the inbox and archive.
While some users found the data interesting, the primary function was to demonstrate how central Gmail had become to digital life.
Availability
Claude Reflect is currently in beta. It is available to Free, Pro, and Max subscribers who have memory enabled. Future updates will include a view showing the total time spent using the service.
What it means
The dashboard makes the reliance on the tool visible. Seeing a list of completed tasks reinforces the idea that the software is a standard part of the user’s daily routine. The combination of usage tracking and suggestions for deeper integration creates a feedback loop that encourages continued use.
