Anthropic officially files for its public debut

Anthropic officially filed for an initial public offering on Monday with the ticker symbol ANT, following weeks of leaked prospectuses. The filing reveals the company recorded $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, a significant increase from $1.2 billion in the same period last year. This growth occurred alongside an operating loss of $693 million, which improved from $2.1 billion in 2025. However, the net loss reached $80.7 billion due to noncash accounting adjustments related to convertible debt. The firm states it may not achieve or sustain profitability in the future. Enterprise customers account for much of this activity, with over 11,900 clients spending at least $100,000 annually and approximately 250 spending over $10 million.

The structure of the company will allow the seven co-founders to retain control despite the public listing. Dario Amodei, Daniela Amodei, Tom Brown, Jack Clark, Jared Kaplan, Sam McCandlish, and Christopher Olah will form a Founder LLC controlling 50.1% of shareholder voting power. A separate Long-Term Benefit Trust will appoint most of the board to ensure the public benefit mission continues. This arrangement separates voting power from economic ownership, meaning public shareholders have limited practical influence over the firm’s direction. The filing does not disclose the total amount to be raised or the proposed share price.

* Revenue grew from $1.2 billion to $16.3 billion in the first half of the year.
* The Founder LLC controls 50.1% of voting power despite lower economic ownership.
* Approximately 250 enterprise customers spend over $10 million annually.
